Church Resources produces a range of faith-based publications which are read by tens of thousands of Australian and international subscribers every week.
CathNews is a free daily news service reporting on the latest developments of the Catholic Church in Australia, from the Vatican and around the world. CathNews - produced five days a week - continues to lead as the premier news service in the Australian Catholic Church today. The CathNews website is complemented by a daily email of the latest headlines, received by more than 16,000 Subscribers from around Australia and abroad.
Launched in 2011, CathNews Perspectives, subtitled 'time to go a little deeper', provides more in-depth stories and is published every Friday afternoon. CathNews Perspectives has a Gospel focus, and includes a Weekly Vision, book reviews, obituaries of leading Catholics from home and abroad, and digests of the stories which don't make it into the news sections of CathNews' daily edition.
Once a week someone in the 1,400 Catholic parishes in Australia, normally the parish secretary, spends two or more hours preparing the parish bulletin to be distributed at Mass on the coming Sunday. Amid everything else that's happening in a busy parish office, there's the challenge to make the bulletin both attractive and carrying needed information about the parish. In April 2007, Church Resources - with valuable input from the Catholic Enquiry Centre - began to send a weekly email to parishes with material that might prove helpful in the preparation of the bulletin. This no-cost service has been warmly welcomed by parishes around Australia.
