Nestle Professional Gluten Free Cooking Class

Nestle held a gluten free cooking class as part of the Excellence in Foodservice Community Program.

We spent a fun morning going through a wonderful Gluten Free menu by Nestle Executive Chef Mark Clayton.

The team from Nestle provided an overview of the latest coffee machines, presentation on the new gluten free tool kit and then into the kitchen – where the following menu was demonstrated:

  • Maggi golden pumpkin soup.
  • Lasagne made with gluten free pasta using Maggi Béchamel Sauce Mix.
  • Using gluten free gravy mix to make chicken pies with gluten free pastry (made from scratch).
  • Fettucine Carbonara with gluten free pasta.
  • Gluten free sponge cake with Chocolate mousse and berries.
  • Crème Brule and chocolate berry dessert cups.

Everyone had an opportunity to assist Mark prepare lunch, who demonstrated excellent technique when making gluten free cakes, pastries and main meals. Everyone commented how easy the Nestle products were to use and that the gluten free meals made tasted no different to what you normally buy.

We all went home with the new Nestle Gluten Free tool kit and samples to try.
