CR Kitchen With Riviana: Chicken and Chickpea Curry

A Delicious, Easy to Make Chicken and Chickpea Curry

Another simple one pot recipe to use. Curry with rice make an easy evening meal. Chickpeas in curry help to increase the protein and fibre and add a different type of texture. Serve this curry with rice, yogurt and fresh coriander.

Approximate cooking time: 1 hour

Serves: 10


2 Tbsps oil

2 onions sliced

1.5kg chicken breast

¼ cup curry paste (adjust for hotness)

1 chicken stock cube

6 large potatoes peeled and diced (1kg)

3 cups chickpeas (drained)

800g coconut cream

1 chicken stock cube

250g green beans

Coriander to serve


  1. Heat oil in pan and fry onion, chicken and curry paste.
  2. Add in diced potatoes and chickpeas
  3. Stir in coconut cream and chicken stock cube
  4. Cover and cook (20 minutes) until potato is soft
  5. Add beans and cook for a further 10 minutes
  6. Sprinkle coriander on top and season to taste
  7. Serve with rice and yogurt
